Swiss Action Plan for the crayfish

The Swiss Action Plan for the three crayfish species Astacus astacus, Austropotamobius pallipes and Austropotamobius torrentium describes the framework (i.e. the aims, strategies, measures, protagonists and their roles, etc.) for the conservation of the three native species in Switzerland. Besides conservation measures, the Action Plan shed into light the importance of controlling the expansion of non native crayfish species living in the nature. The Action Plan reviews the present situation of the three native species of crayfish in Switzerland and the actions that have to be undertaken to stop their decline and to control the expansion of the non native species.
